Ice Fest Update 12/4/14
Ice Fest X (number 10) is approaching fast, and the festival organizers have plenty of good news to share with everyone. Let’s Start with the ice conditions for this year’s festival.
Big thanks goes out to the volunteers working to get the farming up and operating, add to that the Minnesota Climbers Association for getting it all organized. So between the MCA, and the early snow and freeze up we’ll have plenty of ice for this year’s festival.
Next on the list of good news is all the great sponsors, new and returning. Down Wind Sports from Marquette Michigan will be joining fun at this year’s festival, they’re bringing a truck load of climbing boots and crampons to help outfit new ice climbers for the weekend.
You’ll also see Arcteryx at the Sandstone Ice Festival - new to the festival Arcteryx just opened a retail store in Minneapolis and we’re glad to see them at the festival.
More good news,
Mountaineer/Adventure Athlete Bryan Block will be the guest speaker at this year’s evening event. Bryan recently completed climbing the “Seven Summits” the highest peaks in the seven continents. He’ll have stories and a slide show to share Saturday night.
